I am in the beginning stages of an experiment which anyone can diplicate to gain their own personal dreaming hours at night while they sleep. Confused...... Dont worry i will fill you in!

My experiment consists of a webcam, my laptop, my bed and me :-)

When i sleep i have found that i smile or frown alot during dreaming period along with the REM action of my eyes. I know this as my girlfriend has informed me for sometime that she thought i was awake when really i was sleeping/dreaming.

I intend to film my sleeping periods and find an average over a five days to find which hours through my sleep show most signs of dreaming. Now this is very useful information as i can set my audio alarms at these specific hours to induce lucid dreams alot easier. I can also then detect how much dream activity is noticed over the nightly periods and wheather it becomes a variable, for example if i am more tired than the night before or i have eaten something which is suspected of helping the dream state.

I hope to keep everyone updated and would like any feedback you can offer.

      Thx Sostyles

I use a bedside lamp with a dimmer on it so i can see my face and features clearly when sleeping!

Haha, have fun watching 6 hours of footage! Sounds like an awesome idea, but how do you plan on watching all that footage?

You can use the "night vision" option, but I don't know if that may affect your sleep in any way.

      Watching 6 hours , :/

these are the kind of experiments I like. I just hope you don't roll over over at night so you turn your back on the camera.

This i have taken into account by using pillows mounted at each side of me to try and stop me rolling over, as for watching 6 hours of footage..... not really with good video software it is possible to cut the main 6 hours into blocks of 2 hours each then scan through it until my features or movements show signs of dreaming!

Thanks for your interest, any more questions im all ears

      Thx sostyles
