I've been practicing lucid dreaming for about a week, recently I've become aware of Sleep Paralysis.

During the past 3 or 4 nights I have achieved this state of sleep paralysis before falling into sleep. Being caught by complete surprise by this sensation I begin to panic, I found my heart beating at a rapid rythm and a difficulty to breath normally, heavy breaths, gasping for air etc.

The SPs will usually last from 10-20 seconds.

I'm curious to how one can remain calm during this state, any techniques or advice that anybody might have.

Also, I'm a little confused on what exactly I am to do when I reach this state. Am I supposed to drift into dreaming straight after or during the SP and how would one achieve this?

The first SP was done using a breathing technique, the last few were achieved through the use of the brainwave mind voyage cds.
