I totaly know what you mean. There is something that works for me every time, but you have to be dedicated to the thing you want done, because I know how stubrn I can be when waking up in the middle of the night. If you are dedicated enough, simple but strong auto-suggestions might work, they do for me. Before you go to bed, or while in the bed allready, just say to yourself in your mind, something like "I will wake up... I will do this and that.". Believe in what you're saying and have willpower escort the suggestion. I can eaven wake up exactly when I mean to sometimes, without the help of an alarmclock.
