Ideas For Torturous And Boring Things

Ok, I'm working on a new induction technique. I will describe what it is after I test to see if it works, but for now I need some help. I know it sounds like senseless-banter material, but it's part of a research I'm doing for an induction technique which might be quite effective. Please tell me ideas for things which are very torturous and boring and are of NO benificial value what so ever. Here are examples: 1) Copy 2 pages of the yellow pages phone book 2) Don't eat anything the whole day except for something unhealthy and untasty such as cooking oil 3) Translate brochures and manuals of video cards from one language to another, and then translate it back. Please feel free to be as extreme as you want, but within reason ( cutting your arm off wouldn't do ).

(chainsaw or something) 4) flip a coin 3x10^3 times, and figure the probability of it landing on the edge. Hope that helps. I dunno about the small engine; I'd probablly enjoy that, actually.

My ideas: Graph a simple function without a calculator (plug in X=0, graph Y; plug in X=0.1, graph Y; plug in X=0.2, graph Y etc...) and show your work. Use tweezers to move a pile of sugar from one place in your house to another craft an item out of wood, but use only fine sand paper. calculate pi the hard way make a full-length, motion picture out of sticky notes (at 24 plus frames per second)

Set your computer's desktop to a pattern, then draw the background on a piece of white paper with just a pencil, with enough detail that it looks basically the same (but not drawing the icons). Type the first chapter of your favorite book. If you make a typo, you cant' hit backspace; you have to start over. Read a book backwards, that is, the words in reverse order so that you have no idea what it means.

cut a piece of paper in two. Then cut each of the two new pieces into two again. Then cut the four pieces of paper into two. Then cut the eight...... continue with this until your pieces of paper are smaller than 0.25cm x 0.25cm

The thing is, plenty of ideas here are beneficial....for your brain..... It's actually quite hard thinkin about boring stuff, why not draw entire pages with a pencil then rub it all off neatly....

[/b] yea, some ideas might be benificial for some poeple, but it's ok, I don't nassasarily need ideas that will be boring and unbeneficial to everyone. I would now like to direct your attention to ideas that would be turturous but without the boring aspect. One example is my idea of not eating anything the whole day except some cooking oil. Here's some more: (If your female ) go to work without makeup. If it's a hot day and you need to drive then turn the air-conditioner in the car to heat.

Not only would you have to take time to apply it poperly, you also wouldn't have to worry about accidently having smudged your mascara all over your face without noticing it...! Goin to work without make up isn't torturous, if anything, it might make you a bit self-conscious, but nothing dramatic. xXx

Water torture is boring. Hang upside-down and read a genre of book you can't stand. To ease the boredom, every time you turn the page, you have to draw a picture before you can continue reading. Make sure the ground is within reach so that you can pick up anything you drop.

tortuous, huh? Try sandpapering the bottom of your feet, or your fingertips raw. the entire day will be agony. (safecrackers used to do that actually, so they could feel the tumblers better; Neal's useless fact for today.) Or sniff amonia. This might be dangerous, though.

Hmmm, take a icecube and put salt on it, then run it on your skin it burns for a long time. listin to a tape of someone scratching their nails of a black board. put tape on random parts of your body (parts with hair only) and every hour rip one off. Eat only your least favorite food for a day

Good god, but it's painful to have sugar crystals go up your nose... Torturously boring: manually convert a part of an obscure Victorian etiquette manual (or some other obsolete, boring text) into 7-bit ASCII. Then manually convert it back.
