      First attempt at WILD!

Hi, I'm pretty happy, because I got so much further in a WILD than I expected.

I went to bed at about 9:30pm, and got up at 3:00am. I drank a can of soda, and stayed up until 3:30. Then I layed down and started concentrating on my breathing, and watching a little bit of HI, though I didn't get much right away. Then after like 45 minutes my body got.. tingly. I thought it was SP, so I tried moving my finger, and I couldn't lol.. Quite odd. So I just layed there, even though I happened to be in a slightly uncomfortable position Anyway, after having SP for about 15 minutes, I heard a noise like birds chirping. I think, "It is only 4:30 in the morning, how are birds chirping already???" Then I relized it was, I forget what it is called, but basically sleep noise. I got some scary mages and noises which I would rather not talk about. Then, I started to form a scene in my mind. I am sure I was so close.. but suddenly.. My parents alarm went off! Ugh, that broke my concentration. It was 5:30, I had tried for a full 2 hours.. Oh well. Anyway, for the next 30 seconds I moved so slowly lol.. Well, thats my first WILD story.

I commend you on staying calm! I can never keep relaxed.

Can you perform succesful WILDs when just going to bed or is it much better to have 3/4/5 hours of sleep first?

DEFINATELY have about 5 hours of sleep first. Remember that the first REM session s extremely shot, and they get longer later in the night. Therefore if you get up at like 3-4 in the morning and try to WILD, you will have a lot better lucid dream. Also, you will probably be more calm if you were just asleep when you try.

Sounds like you are making great progress! Keep it up.

I'm wondering about the soda. Do you think it kept you awake?
