Thumbs up Door-way RC - Youtube Video

I found a neat video which will help people using the DILD technique.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43vdPS6vYFc

Basically, everytime you walk through a door-way you should perform a reality check. You can either ask yourself "am i dreaming?" everytime you walk through a door-way or perform a reality check such as the watch RC.

The door-way RC technique has been up, but this helps a bit I guess.

      haha yeah

well its the idea and principle behind it.

That you should remember to do reality checks as often as possible. When your in a dream, you don't get a nice little intro saying "you are about to have a dream, prepare yourself", your just suddenly there in a place such as your home, a shopping centre, a school, etc. So by doing a reality check as soon as you enter or leave a building will increase your chances because your doing it everytime you are in a different environment.

Excactly, though it might have side-effects. For example, the hand-trough-hand RC would probably fail, since it fails all the time in real-life. For this method, watches and nose-rc would be the most reliable.

I used to bite my lip and see if it hurts...
After some time I started to really feel pain etc. in dreams too...

      And that's not good :S

Biting your lip is not a good reality-check.

none of the RC's are good besides the watch one.

trying to put your hand through your other hand doesn't always work in a dream, its like trying to walk through a wall, you aren't always able to achieve this everytime.
trying to breathe through your nose doesn't always work in a dream either, sometimes you can't do it and either get too scared and take your fingers off your nose, or you wake up.

However, with numbers and letters, 99% of the time in a dream they will change the second time you look at them. Also, the watch is good because you can set the alarm to remind you to do it, and because you won't look like an idiot in public trying to breathe through your nose or hitting your hands.

      Hmm interesting,

I dont think I could really have time to do reality checks after I go through a door each time. (I seem to go through alot of them)

But not a bad method, I might try that later on.

"Also, the watch is good because you can set the alarm to remind you to do it"

Well, what happens if you become dependant upon the beep to check your watch? Subsequently, what happens when there is no beep in your dream, does that mean you won't think of doing a RC?

      Woah, deep.
