In general, instant lucidity is the ability to have a lucid dream whenever you want. If I wanted one right now I could have one right now. As for the orginal question I was asking if this is possible for anyone. I guess the question about whether this ability can be learned or not is another good question too.

Assuming we're talking about doing this while we're asleep and already dreaming, then I'd have to say yes, it's possible. I'm pretty sure that many people are pretty close to that ideal already.

If you have enough experience you should be able to have lucid dreams at will. I'm reading Stephen LaBerge's book "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" and he mentions that he can have lucid dreams whenever he wants

I've never read his book, but does the book mention what technique the author uses to have a lucid dream? Generally speaking, I have one lucid dream per night . It is my goal to find a technique to have a lucid dream at will. Any suggestions?

I guess if you center your life around lucid dreaming, you'll be able to have them whenever you want. Besides, I bet all those buddhist monks or the tibetan dream yogists can do it. I really don't see a reason for it to be impossible.

It's possible you just have to have a lot of practice in order to be able to do it. Don't expect to be able to have a Lucid Dream whenever you want after practicing for a short amount of time.

I have been through times when I could become Lucid at will. At least pretty much any night I wanted. And maybe four to five Times in a night. I think it's more about motivation than technigue. I am working on getting back to that point now. I was almost there before a situation came up in my life that caused a dry spell. Then the last week in may I started getting Lucid again, But I ended up getting sick in the first week of june. And it sent me back into another dry spell, because I was losing sleep.

I would suggest finding a good technique that works for you. Then if you work hard enough at it, and bring enough energy into it. you will start having more and more. Until it gets to the point, where you get used to the feeling of being in a dream. And you just start to know that your dreaming, without hardly any effort. It is possible, And I think if I have been able to do it anyone can. Because I have to work Damn hard to get that first Lucid in, after a long time of not doing it.

I actualy got pretty Lucky with my first lucid dream when I was a teenager.
I decided that I was going to learn to know I was dreaming. And I got so excited and determined to do it, that I induced my first Lucid dream within a couple of hours of deciding to do it. If thats not becoming Lucid instantly I don't know what is. It just goes to show how powerful a technigue, pure motivation can be.

I really think success breeds success on all things in life, and LDing is no exception. That initial hurdle of getting one or two LDs might seem insurmountable at first, but once that barrier is broken... I can picture one day thinking "Oh, I remember my noob LD days when I though one LD was hard! lol" Hell, at one point I truly questioned whether LDing itself was real!

It's definitely possible to LD at will, as long as you keep dreaming!
