Can't visualize and no hypnotic imagery, am I the only one?

I'm putting this thread in this forum since visualization is 'required' for some techniques.

Most people I have met claim to be able to visualize. See whatever they want in there head. This is not the case for me. I have tried many techniques and am not able to visualize anything at all. And never have. A friend suggested smoking large amounts of marijuana, which increases his visualization skills. Didn't work for me.

I have experianced sleep paralysis several times. Last summer I awoke late in the morning, but I had left the radio on and wanted to listen to the end of the song before I got up. I knew where I was, but quickly realized that I had never heard this song before and that my radio wasn't even in my room. I hadn't moved or opened my eyes yet. And wanted to see how this would turn out. The song stopped, and I began hearing random sounds and odd noises, common to SP. A dream formed in front of me, slowly clarified and I entered. Basicly a effective DEILD. This has happend to me about a dozen times. And each one I have never experienced the imagery.

The only thing that has ever alowed me to visualize is 700mg+ doses of DXM (I don't feel like explaining, so if your not already knowledgable on that drug, please don't ask).

Finally, is anyone out there in the same boat as me? Or am I all alone over here...

It's not really imagery, its just a slowly moving blob of dull colours (for me anyway.) It may have been so subtle that you didn't even notice it. What you explained where the dream appeared in front of you was a WILD, not DEILD.

I can't visualize and I lucid dream so it's not necessary. VILDs aren't very common, lots of people have what types of lucids they have had in their signature, very few include VILDs.

On another note: 700mg is an high dosage of Dextomethorphan, so I assume you are taking it for recreational instead of medical reasons? If you have used other more potent drugs in the past DMX can be used to bring people down,) it they may have screwed with your senses.

i dont get much HI either. unlike popular belief, you dont need HI to deild, or wild. sometimes its not even helpful(like ill be trying to wild, and on some nights i will see HI right when i close my eyes, and other nights i wont see any at all).

I get a lot of HI whenever I close my eyes. But like FreeFire said you don't need HI to DEILD or WILD although it can be helpful as it gives you a image to focus on. So it's not necessary, but can be helpful and sometimes can be non-helpful.

Wow 700mg of DXM? What a trooper. And there are a lot of people in your boat who cannot do HI and have LD's, but then again there are a lot of people who do have HI and have LD's.

When you're visualize your not actually seeing the thing

Visualization is more of using your imagination and creating a perception. If you see a house behind you're closed eyes that's Clairvoyance. The whole hypnotic imagery, really starts off as little patterns and then form into colors, eventually if you don't break the state you're in and don't try to forcefully look at the patterns and colors, then you'll start to actually see images eventually.
