So i have been trying to Lucid dream for a few weeks. I haven't really had a lucid dream by actually incubating the intention but they have just happened which is okay with me because i understand patience is what it takes. I can recall 2-4 of my dreams on any given night if i actually get up and write them down. I try to get at least one of them even if i am being extremely lazy. I have been gobbling up all the books and internet stuff on lucid dreaming. Most recently i read Stephen LaBarge's 'Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming' and have ordered the more recent book that he wrote. However, i find that WILD is a little out of my abilities at this point, and while i practice MILD suggestions I can never go to sleep while doing it. I usually tend to drift off into another thought and get lost in it for a little while until i realize what i did. It seems that WBTB is the most feasible method for me because i wake up a ton of times during the night and i can sleep for, basically, as long as i want to (while at the same time, it takes me a good amount of time to get to sleep at the beginning of the night). The problem that i have overall is just not having any correlation between what I am practicing and my dreams. I just go about as if the dreams are still real. I know i shouldn't expect anything drastic to happen until it happens but i just want to focus my efforts so i don't waste my time. |

I have the exact same problem you have you know? |

Luminous Spacious Dream Masters That Holographically Communicate
among other teachers taught me
not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.
Just keep at it and type every technique to can find. Something will give eventually. For me I find that I have to change techniques every so often. You must believe that you can and will have a lucid dream. There is no barrier just you and your dreams. Self confidence helps a lot.At the same time dont try too hard. You might be surprised what can happen if you stop trying for a few days. Dreams are loose and elusive things. You try to force it and it will slip away. At least thats the way I see it. |

Have you tried FILD? It sounds like it would work perfect for your situation (since you wake up often and can easily fall back asleep). |

I havent tried FILD. I might as well. I just can't see why none of the reality checking, reading, and methods manage to have an impact on my dreams. I am patient, though, so ill see what FILD does. |

Well, if it's any consolation, I haven't had one lucid experience by using an induction method...yet. They've all been spontaneous. You could keep on trying or when you feel you are making no progress, just leave it for a while like Xanous suggested. |

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."
