I've seemed to discover a new way to get lucid two nights ago...I don't know if this is an already established technique, a way to do it, or an entirely new technique altogether.
A prerequestite is that you have fairly well visualization techniques (leading me to think this just may have been a different way to VILD.) Here's how I did it. I got up at 1 in the morning to use the bathroom, and when I went back to bed, I lied there and visualized myself watching something passively, best described as me just watching TV. The characters seemed to have lives of their own, with them arguing about smething and I soon found myself in the middle of it. No lucid, however.
The next night, I did it again. This time, however, once I got into the dream, one character looked square at me and said "Did you do a reality check?". I did, got lucid, but lost it for some odd reason. Maybe I forgot the rest of the dream.
The best way I can describe this is I visualized an episode of a TV show, like you just imagining it during the bright of day, except me being on the brink of sleep seemed to enhance the visualization to the point where I carried it over straight into a dream. I could hear the characters clearly, kind of see them, but I still knew when I was awake and I knew when I was dreaming (the second time).
All of this is kind of difficult to describe.
So, is this an established technique, or a new one to work on? I haven't done it again yet, but I liked how easy and foolproof it seemed.
