So i have been trying to Lucid dream for a few weeks. I haven't really had a lucid dream by actually incubating the intention but they have just happened which is okay with me because i understand patience is what it takes. I can recall 2-4 of my dreams on any given night if i actually get up and write them down. I try to get at least one of them even if i am being extremely lazy. I have been gobbling up all the books and internet stuff on lucid dreaming. Most recently i read Stephen LaBarge's 'Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming' and have ordered the more recent book that he wrote. However, i find that WILD is a little out of my abilities at this point, and while i practice MILD suggestions I can never go to sleep while doing it. I usually tend to drift off into another thought and get lost in it for a little while until i realize what i did. It seems that WBTB is the most feasible method for me because i wake up a ton of times during the night and i can sleep for, basically, as long as i want to (while at the same time, it takes me a good amount of time to get to sleep at the beginning of the night). The problem that i have overall is just not having any correlation between what I am practicing and my dreams. I just go about as if the dreams are still real. I know i shouldn't expect anything drastic to happen until it happens but i just want to focus my efforts so i don't waste my time.
I have been listening to the mp3s and what not and think that some kind of meditation would be effective for getting in the right mind state but I havent tried anything outside of the 'trance' induced by the mp3s. What would you guys recommend?
