I dont believe it can happen either, but some people believe in 'dreamwalkers' or something like that...

It's known as dream sharing and it is very controversial as to whether it is possible or not. I personally beleive that it is possible, but a bit more complicated than what you said.

I want to test this out like this: think of a random word, tell my friend in 'our' dream, and ask him what it is the next morning. I'm fairly sure that this i impossible, though

This I suppose, would require there to be some sort of shared dream world, which I quite firmly believe there is not.

It would be fun if it was real though.

All o'ya sure assume alot, but know very little. I know just as little when it comes to shared dreaming, but at least I admit that and I don't have any conclusions wether it's true or not. I haven't had experience with it, but I've heard of shared dreams from friends of mine. Unintentional and nonlucid but still there was a specific hotmail adress in a friend of mine's dream and her best friend sdreamt exactly the same with exactly the same hotmail adress.


For me I just don't know. I would be a stupid shit to claim I believe it's true or believe it's impossible; I have no experience to speak from.
I keep my mind open to the truth, whatever it may be.

I don't believe it, but it would be cool if it were true. But even if you did test it and it WAS true, the other person might not remember the dream.

Just to make it even more confusing, consider the possibility of mutually similar dreams that are merely coincidental. You might dream of each other without having a connection.

How can we say for certain that ANYTHING is impossible in a world that can be described by quantum mechanics, located in a universe that is likely one of an infinite number of parallel universes?

Well there is a way to make sure you can be certain wether a shared dream was real or not;

Tell the other person in the Dream that " The Word is kakolukia" ( I Lurrv prince of Persia ) Then uppon awakening contact them and ask them "What's the word?" If they say "Kakolukia" then there's no chance in hell that shared dream was coincidental. Then again more people MIGHT know that word from having Played Prince or Persia so make it a personal, meaningless, nonexisting word.

I just remembered a shared dream like experience i had once....it wasn't lucid though.

In MY dream, i was sliding off the road and was going to crash into a moving train, i tried to stop the car so bad, but it was to late and i crashed and the car went underneath the train and i died.

I didn't tell anyone my dream yet, then my mom says on the breakfast table about a dream she had, she said that I, duppa, was underneath a train and my hand got caught off.....!?!?!? same night we dreamed about it. Thats pretty close to being something weird isn't it? Not lying about this dream either.

How do we know that lucidity occurs in an entirely different universe? My understanding has always been that dreams are mental constructs; illusions that our brain creates utilizing sensory output.

Like ska said, we shouldn't just jump to conclusions. It's not very likely, but we can't really say it's impossible until we try. I once had a dream that a big floating blob was kidnapping me at mcdonalds, so I hid in the bushes outside while he bought me an ice cream cone and I saw my mom drive past and I jumped on the back of the car and got away. Then my cousin told me about a dream she had and it was the same exact dream. We even drew a picture of the blob to see if we were really dreaming of the same thing, and both our drawings looked the same. I dont know if it's a coincidence or not, but that's one of the most random dreams I'd ever had and not something most people would dream about. Although I dont believe in that whole "dreamwalkers and Nightstalkers" thing. I mean, it sounds interesting, but come on... they're talking about people joining factions and legions and banning their victims from dreaming and nighstalker hunting and all that stuff. sounds a lot like a fantasy to me

Actually, i am experimenting with this "dream sharing" and the results are promising so far.

Yeah, I recently watched a documentary on string theory, or M theory, or what ever they are calling it now. pretty fascinating stuff!

Most paranormal occurrences can be explained statistically.

What would you say the odds of two people sharing an extremely similar dream on the same night are? One in a billiion? One in a trillion? Pick a number.

365 days in a year * 6.6 billion people = 2.4 trillion dreams in a year (just assuming for sake of simplicity one dream per night). That's just a single year. When dealing in numbers that large, it would be surprising if you didn't hear about a few cases of people sharing dreams, or dreaming about a catastrophic event before it happened.

It's good to be open-minded, but investing your beliefs in things that aren't backed by sufficient evidence is just foolish.

I have a rather recently found genuine interest in this. I'm not a a believer, but I am coming around to being open to the notion that something could be going on here more than the common explanation covers.

don't knock it till you've tried it. it is easy (in relative terms) to establish its existance but a lot harder to prove its non-existance.

it would be a great way to get lucid though, eh? you're walking around some odd place thinking "this is normal and i am just living my waking life. la de da"

then this guy runs over and says "hey, i'm super duck from dv and you're dreaming. get lucid now!"

Lol no, I mean, are brains could be more than we expected. Like Nintendo Wild - Fild (yeah, sorry). I mean, psycic people for example. They have do funky stuff with the power of the mind. And how the hell do people expect to say in a Dream "Excuse me, mate. Do you know how I can stay Lucid". One the parallel universe theory has no evidence, and too bringing quantum mechanics in is wrong, brains are classical objects and dreams are not paranormal. Even if on some level brain had some quantum phenomina this wouldn't mean we could connect brains.

People who believe in shared dream or astral projection, are wishful thinkers. I don't mean wishful thinkers in a good way.
