I have ADD and have been having lucids for years, so that's not really a stumbling block. I don't use any of the herbs or vitamins you mention, nor any subliminal techniques. |

I have been trying to lucid dream for a while now and nothing works? I used mugwort tea---nothing, I used Galantamine tabs with Choline with a supplement on the side of B5---nothing, I used B6--nothing, Subliminal CD---nothing, not even vivid dreams. I have ADD so I am unable to concentrate for long to use any good method. I used reality checks as well, looking at hands constantly, etc. I suffer from depression and this is a terrible blow for me as I reality wanted to do this for therapy reasons. Oh, well, I should have known this is the way it would be. |

I have tried that as well. I have decent dream recall for the most part, jsut not very vivid and not lucid. Damn, I am useless, even in my dreams. |
Well that attitude right there is what *I* think is holding you back from becoming Lucid. If you think your worthless and that it will never happen then your tricking your brain into really thinking it will never happen. |
Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.
To deny may be just as dangerous and misleading as to accept.
Honestly I have. On day's that I felt good I would do exactly what you said and still nothing happens. I even tried the confidence method to no avail several times. Oh well. Sorry to bother you guys, and I appreciate your responses. |
All of these things that you have been using, they seem like 'shortcut' methods, requiring little actual work. Have you tried MILD? If you have not, I recommend you do. |

You still have not told us how long you have been trying. It typically takes some time before any success is had at all. |

thank you, but I do reality checks everyday, just not much of anything else. You are right , I will try harder. One of my biggest problems is I tend to lose interest in things rather fast and I hope I stay with this. The few that I have had were pretty cool, but the one I had a month and half ago was awesome. I was standing by my old house and things looked so clear, it was as if I was at the highest level of Lucidity as I would look at the grass and be amazed at how clear and green it was. everything arouhd me looked so real but when I tried to do anythign (fly, change things) I was not able to . This is what go me back into LDing and Iwant that again. I had two brief ones after that that were not very clear and only moderatly lucid. |
sorry, I have been trying for a month and a half now consistantly, although I tried years ago as well as I was briefly into them due to a LD experience |
Well you seem to have a negative attitude which could be affecting it not that you are a negative person just you have a negative outlook on your success. The other thing is that perhaps you are putting on a false outlook that you think is positive, "I am going to have a lucid tonight", but you do not really believe that in the back of your mind you still have doubt. |
thank you, I will consider that. |
^^ I did this, and two days ago had my first start-to-finish lucid dream. Completely out of the blue, I woke up, started reading (harry potter 7), and all of a sudden got a ridiculous urge to sleep. I put down the book, took of my glasses, and immediately, as I put my head down, sound distortions came. I knew instantly I was going into a dream, and had an amazing LD. |

at first I thought you weren't able to have a lucid dream, like you've never had any, but you have man! you should be excited that you even can! some people cant and I really feel bad for them. |
no, it was not too long, I appreciate the response. |
Hey, at least you haven't been trying for a year with little results. |
I am a strong believer in the fact that lucid dreaming is on the most part about confidence. If you can find a way to convince yourself that you are a master lucid dreamer, even if you never have lucid dreams, 1 will appear sooner or later, and once you know what it's like most probably some more will follow it |
I doubt it, things have a way of never working for me, and that is not just an attitude, it's from experience, even when I feel good about it. Sometimes I wonder if I am cursed. It seems whenever I get into something I am always one of the few that never get good at it. |
Sometimes it takes a long time, but that doesn't mean it can never happen. Here's a long-awaited-success story: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=40590 |

LaBerge even mentioned for some people, just forgetting about it can cause it to happen. I knew someone who tried for months, and finally lost interest in the subject. Suddenly out of the blue one night he had a full blown OBE (meaning a very, very vivid LD). Your subconscious will remember; just allow it to do the work for you, because you are defeating yourself with every thought that says "I can't". |
thank you, I will keep that in mind. I guess one of the reasons I want to LD so much is that I often feel I have very little control over my life and it is often very stressful and I just want an enviorment where I can let myself go. |
Take a vacation, and just meditate, relax, and sleep all the time. |

I haven't read the full thread meticuously, but I'm not convinced you're laying the groundwork. What's your dream recall? Do you keep a dream journal? Both of these are important for getting more in touch w/ your dreamspace. |
