Are you just randomly trying throughout the day? If so, that's the problem. That way means that you have to lay there upwards to 90 min and if you want to WILD, the dream would only be about 5 min (I've never been successful so I'm not sure when SP kicks in). But, your body naturally wakes up several times in the night after REM sleep. So, if you can figure out your sleep cycle, you could wake up after about 5-6 hours and everything comes quicker because you naturally get REM sleep.
