sorry to burst your bubble, but the (fcc?) outlawed the use of subliminal messages in comercial adds a long time ago... but an extensive study was done that proved that subliminal messages dont work

      *cough* AHEM...

I think this whole 'Smarties' idea could be used in all these 'LUCID DREAMING DEVICES'...that help you attain lucididty.

I am not saying they do not work, but merely suggesting that they use the same power of suggestion, while scamming people out of hundreds of dollars!

      ...uhuh?

Your right, man...i'm not denying that taking supplements such as B-6 work, but perhaps they don't work as well as the results show, as the power of suggestion plays a big part in your mind, as you have to meet up to the demand charactaristics of the supplement you are partaking of.

My name, once again, says it all

I haven't found any pill to improve my dreams or lucidity. Even melatonin (in my case). Not that they don't exist, but they don't seem to work on me.
It does make me wonder about the nature of them.

      thing

I'm a bodybuilder and am currently taking a supplement called "ZMA nighttime fuel". The very first day I took it I started having dreams (or atleast remembering them). Everynight I take it (as required), so I did research on the active ingredient called Vitamin-B6., turns out it stimulates dreams. I had no power of suggestion over me, I wasn't even looking to have dreams (I never have/can't remember them). Fact of the matter is, maybe the stuff works.

Thanks for that unholy - we can finally put that one to rest!
Were there any other ingredients that may have interfered?

Nah, no other ingredients, although there are others in the ZMA nighttime fuel, I checked it out. There is like 180mg of vitamin B6 in it by the way.

Yeah i agree, the placebo effect is very powerful (and yes, today a recived my order of a HUGE bag of dream herb through the post). But even if it is just the power of suggestion, whatever works right?

There should be some control experiments carried out. For example one night give someone a herb or pill the is apperently supposed to induce lucid dreams, the other night give them something that tastes the same but had no effect. The person taking them is not told which one is which and the results of their dreams is compared to what drug they were taking.

You would still have the question of whether the 'dream pill' has a delayed effect or not. Eg. it might take a day to affect your dreams ?
And once again, every person reacts slightly different to these things
