      blasted alarm clock!

I'm in school so i have to wake up at a certain time in the morning, just like most people. I use my cell phone as an alarm clock because it's much louder than my alarm clock, and i can set 3 times so i set the first for 5:30 AM (to try adam's method), and the second at 7AM to wake up for school. i usually go to bed anywhere from 11-12. well, i find that waking up to a very annoying, loud LOUD beeping noise almost immediately makes me forget my dreams. I would try using my quieter alarm clock, but i normally just sleep right through it, so that won't do. I know some people can train their minds to wake themselves up, but I can't do that yet, so i dunno how i should go about fixing this?

When i wake up, i get a "life before your eyes" type of flash of all the dreams, then the loud abrupt noise quickly drowns out my thoughts. once i turn off the alarm, i have the hardest time making the thoughts come back. anyway have any advice on this??

Mikey, if you can afford it.. and you think "vibrations" would wake you.. I highly recommend getting an "Invisible Clock".

This small clock can be set to vibrate or beep or both. There are three vibration levels and you can set up to 12 alarms!

I often use the vibration setting on the highest level, wrap the small clock in a face towel and simply lay the clock so that it's pressed against my body.

The vibration isn't "jarring" and another plus to a vibrating clock is that it doesn't disturb anyone else when it goes off (not even my husband who is laying right next to me)!

Below is one of the websites that sell the Invisible Clock: http://www.buddhasplace.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=IC101&Catego ry_Code=Clocks

Now I have to say that the vibrations won't knock you out of bed.

But what I have done in the past was to either hold it in my hand while I slept or lay my hand on top of it as my hand rested under my pillow (if that makes sense) while I slept.. but with these methods you run the risk of waking up wondering where the heck it is. That's why I just put it in a face towel and lay it pressed against me while I sleep.

I can't predict if the vibration will be strong enough for you but you could always try it and return it if it didn't meet your needs.

I once tried using the voice from the movie Vanilla Sky, you know the "Open your eyes" thingy I woke up but like 10 minutes after it had started.

If you have a computer or laptop I use a program alarm clock to trigger an entrainment file around 3 AM and attempt WILDS or even sometimes it can still trigger DILDS depending.

yes i do have one, right next to my bed actually, but my problem is i sleep through something unless it's loud enough, and at that point it's so loud it just jars my brain and i forget my dreams (some times anyway, not always). the invisible clock looks pretty cool, but as i'm tight on money right now, i won't be able to get one yet.

Migth help if you lie back in the exact same position you had when you woke up.
Or, lie as still as possible. When "slumbering" the alarm..

Side not, I am sadly used to waking up to noise. Not from alarm clocks, but small dogs, barking. (Every single morning.) And a big one from time to time.. Etcetera..

I have learned to kind of "split the mind" or somthing, and not ignore the sounds, hearing them, but not listeing.. When at the same time, focusing on recalling key parts of the dreams. Thus not forget all of it at least..

Then again, I only really remember the dreams fully, if I get to wake up.. As opposed to being awoken.
I know who I am, as I become...

I seriously need to learn that trick! I have a 16 1/2 year old going blind small dog that will decide to bark anywhere from 4:30 am until I have to get up at 5:45 am.

I swear, it's like she BARKS the dream right out of my head!

that actually gives me a good idea for tonight

i'll set my cell phone to alarm for the same time as normal, but i'll turn that on vibrate, and set my normal alarm clock to the 7AM. that way, even if the vibration doesn't wake me up at 5:30, i'm sure a combination of vibration and noise at 7 with do the trick.

besides, i can use this in conjunction with some technique i read about, where when you wake up, you stay completely still and don't open your eyes, but stay conscious enough, and i guess it's way easier to WILD that way. (without going back to the forums to check, i believe it was adam's technique.) i'm sure the vibration will wake me up ever so slightly, so i won't be abruptly awoken and wide awake for a few minutes. i'll just be gently awoken, and able to do that method (hopefully )

if this doesn't work... hell, it's just one night, right?
