Didn't get lucid last night. ARGH!!! But, I tried an afternoon thing today again, and I did get the scariest feeling. I literally felt me fall through my bed. It was freaky yet at the same time amazing! My heart skipped a beat and I was like, "Ahh!" Which of course woke me up. But how close was I then to a lucid dream??

Falling through the bed usually drops you into either a dream or a blank canvas where you can make your own dream.
But yeah, getting startled ruins it

So if I hadn't freaked out, then I could have started picturing something and then become lucid?

I feel bad telling you this, but... most likely. Not always, sometimes the sensation is a false alarm. But usually.
On the bright side... you won't be so startled next time
