      RCs leading to LDs...

So, since joining DV, I've had 2 lucid dreams so far, w00t (I'll update my DJ with my recent entries later, sick and lazy right now.) I was just wondering, do frequent RCs really help induce lucid dreams for you? Personally, both of my lucids were DILDs due to nose RCs, and I don't even do them -that- often...so, I'm happy enough with what I have for now, even if it isn't much :3 (BTW, breathing through a plugged nose and/or blocked throat = priceless...!) What about you guys?

      For me, yes.

Some RCs regardless of surroundings would be: hand RC (if the hand looks correct, counting fingers, position), that also works with toes. If a mirror is nearby that's another one since I can look pretty strange in a dream. I have to wear glasses, so if take them off and can see perfectly that's a sign.

As for my surroundings if there's a clock nearby I check if the 12,3,6,9 are in the correct places. I also check lighting of the room since in some dreams there are shadows or a lack of where there should/shouldn't be (look for the position of the light source).

Maybe the best RCs are things you notice the most, that aren't really subtle-seeming like mine.

Hi, I think what makes an RC successfull is not the frequency...but the determination to do them. U can do like a few or like U said not at all and yet remember to do them in the dream because it's the impression of doing them that really counts. So it's very important to choose an RC that goes well with Ur passion and lifestyle...in other words U must feel comfortable and enjoy doing them...

There are two uses of reality checks: Real wondering about being in reality on a dream, or comfirmation of suspisciousness.

I myself use the second case. I don't do them as a "habit", but whenever I see somethign unfitting, I RC. This also includes good or bad news I receive, hitting something but not feeling pain etc
