      How to get past irritation?

Well last night I tried to attain lucidity by just laying there. still. while my brain messed around. I "watched" my body fall asleep. Everybody part, in their turn would tingle and feel numb. Then it would itch. Then eventually I would have a desperate want to move that body part. Then it would twitch and become paralyzed, feeling as heavy as led.

Well I toughed out these tingles, and itches and irritations of deperate wants to move. That is until just about my entire body had fallen asleep. I could feel only a few body parts that still had a ways to go. There was a single spot at the top of my head that irritated me beyond belief. It pierced and poked and ached and cramped and made me want to quiver my lips and tighten my eyes. I kept thinking, "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! tough it out, it will go away soon." but it lasted waaaaaaaay longer than the other irritations and I couldn't take it anymore. and eventually, my body woke and I curled up, really destressed because I was sooooooooo close.

There has GOT to be a way for me to get passed it. and why was it just that one spot that was the king of all irritations. What would you suggest? I'm going to try again tomorrow. But I need to find something, I doubt I'll be able to tough it out next time.

Every time I WILD, I get this one spot on my nose that itches beyond belief. It's always the same spot, and I always have to scratch it, then start again. It's come to be a sign that I am on the right track.

I find that moving a little is less distracting than trying to tough it out. A pain in my body keeps me focused on my body and unable to relax, which is the opposite of what I want.

Next time, experiment with moving a little if it's necessary, but try not to think about it. Don't make it a big deal, just scratch and forget that you scratched.

      I hope this makes sense.

I had this last night, except I wasn't TRYING to lucid dream. I was just trying to fall asleep.
Lately, I'll be falling asleep, and then open my eyes wide and feel unusually still. My body will feel strangely still. I get a lot of twitches and feeling of falling as I'm going to sleep. And images of the day flash through my mind. It's quite irritating.

I am assuming it is a similar method. I use it often for afternoon naps. I will lie completely still, and relax every part of my body until I feel myself slipping into sleep paralysis.

It works great for me. Like I said, I use it most when I am meditating / taking a nap in the afternoon. When I WILD in the middle of the night (after WBTB), I am usually relaxed enough to go straight into SP without any relaxation techniques.

When I'm doing this I find that towards the end, my skin is hyper sensitive. If there is a breeze blowing on my arm hair, or the temperature is wrong, or something similar, it will make me more irritated. Do you think it would help if you took a super hot shower right before you did it? Might relax you a bit in advance.

Do you try this straight from going to sleep or do you use WBTB and then WILD?

I would say itch away, when ever I WBTB/WILD I always itch myself if I need to because the destraction of an itch is far worse then setting yourself back a few seconds by itching yourself! I say go ahead and scratch and don't get worked up
