I do this - it works pretty well for me. You're right about it being subtle. |

I got this idea from Universal Mind. Lately I've been trying to float as a reality check. Sometimes looking at the clock too much isn't a good idea because people will think you're bored. Holding your nose is weird in public, and even looking at your hands can be a little obvious if you do it too often. The internal breathing block is OK, but I'm afraid that is too subtle to work in a dream. |

Oh I thought of another reason why I like the floating RC. If you are trying a technique such as FILD, any RC that makes you move messes up what you are trying to do if you aren't actually asleep yet, but you can try to float without moving and being disturbed. |
|
What's the deal with this RC, you just will yourself to float? |

Yea, that's all, just try to float off of the ground. |

That'd be alot saner looking that plugging my nose for no apparent reason or suddenly biting down on my finger in public. |
|
I like this one too! Though in defense of the nose RC (my favorite), I think I manage to do it pretty subtly. I mean I don't like sit there, holding my nose until kingdom come... all it takes is one quick intake of breath. |

Sound like a good idea. Just one concern. If you beleived a dream was reality and performed this RC, wouldn't you NOT be able to float just because of the beleif, or doubt? I don't know. |
