I thought the same thing it's tricky but you have to master zoning out if you want to be a good WILDer, you just got to relax and not just physical, let your thoughts come and go and watch passivly, it's important to visualise too, that would involve all 5 senses too be the best, you just have to master feeling each one in a zoned out state and be immerged into the dream (though the 5 senses arn't necissary they help alot if mastered). Try WBTB too but don't wake up for too long if it's hard to get to sleep, and if your having trouble staying awake consciously then just stay awake alittle longer before trying.
Though a balance can be developed to maintain conscious and fall asleep at the same time it is tricky, and a very thin line to walk, thats what makes wilding so hard.
