      Unhappy Wbtb...

I think I'm just too hyperactive.

I wake up five hours after I go to sleep, and even if I'm up for about 10 minutes, I can't get back to sleep. Last night I woke up at 4, and just laid in bed for an hour and 45 minutes trying to get to sleep. I eventually ad to get up because of school.

And I know that sleep pills reduce REM.

      Any suggestions?

What is waking you up..? Are there any continuing sounds that keep you awake..?

I have the same issue. Several nights in a row I've found it almost impossible to get back to sleep. I started out staying up for about fifteen minutes, getting up and going to the bathroom, etc. I figured that that was too much, so last night I simply woke up for about a minute and stayed in bed, lights off. And didn't get back to sleep for two hours.

The house was dead silent, so that's not the problem. *shrug*

      Nope, no noises.

I just couldn't sleep. It's like once my mind gets awake it won't sleep some more.

This is a form of insomnia.

Try using melatonin. Buy some and when you wake up to this scenario, take a melatonin pill.

Please let me know how this goes.

Don't give me another thing to be hypochodriatic about.

I'll give it a couple more nights I think before I start taking pills. I haven't really WBTBed much, so it might hve just been some wierd occurence. I'll try again over the next couple nights and if I keep having problems I'll get some.

It's like the polar opposite. A sleeping disorder is a sleeping disorder.

Also.. he eventually does have trouble falling back to sleep, it just happens after he wakes up.

Try waking up in the middle of your REM cycle; I might be wrong about this, but if you're waking up from light sleep, it seems to me that you're going to be less tired then if you wake up from deep sleep.

Well, being more tired would probably be good since I'm not able to get back to sleep.

Like I said, try the melatonin approach first. Your body is likely responding too quickly with its monoamine neurotransmitter production. You could even just try warm milk.

I had this problem before. Just stay up for less time once you wake up. It worked for me.

You just try to stay awake as long as you can, eventually you will start to feel dizzy and that will be the true gap period.

Some people suggest that sleeping around 3.00 pm approx instead of morning will help, in getting the lucid dream.
