Any evidence that this works? I think evolution would have seen to our brains getting enough blood when standing...

      I'll try it tonight though.

Lets not get into skepticism.. This technique seems to be used a lot by meditators or yoga practitioners . ... Why should we believe this doesn't work?
Actually trying new techniques puts my intentions up of entering lucidity.. I'll definetly give this a try as not only to encourage myself into having a LD tonight, but it's also like a challenge to see if I can get in that position
Keep up the good work L

That first one looks like it would cause some serious neck problems.
      Ex: kind of sick pic

While browsing a yoga forum I noticed many of them were extremely cautious about doing this without a proper teacher (due to probable back problems I assume).
      ____

I just looked up a thing I saw on tv the other day that did pretty much what this yoga does:

      "Inversion Boots"
Hanging from the ceiling upside down wearing gravity inversion boots can harm your back and send your blood pressure through the roof, according to a Chicago osteopath. After studying 20 volunteers, Dr. Ronald M. Klatz said some effects of the latest health fad were potentially lethal.
The inversion boot, which was popularized by the actor Richard Gere in a film several years ago and is used daily by tens of thousands of people to decompress the spine, may be dangerous for people with severe cardiovascular problems such as hypertension, as well as those with spinal ailments and glaucoma.
Writing in the July issue of The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Klatz and other researchers at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine said they found that blood pressures greatly increased in people who hung upside down for three minutes.
''It should be noted that our subjects were inverted for only three minutes,'' the researchers reported, ''but many individuals participating in this 'fad' hang for 10-to-20-minute periods, with some exercising and lifting weights.''
The results of the blood pressure readings ''were frightening,'' Dr. Klatz said, advising caution for anyone using the boots.

Anyone who has either eye or heart conditions should be very cautious with this (some other article I found said it puts huge pressure on the eyes).
I have done something similar awhile back. I found some technique where you prop your legs about two feet above your head and lay there for around ten minutes. The article said that this was supposed to permanently widen the blood vessels leading to your brain. Over the several times I used it it had little to no lasting effect .
I'm not really sure how credible the article was though (just looked and couldn't find it)...

      ____

      So yeah... :p

      EDIT:
L, could you please explain to me how this changes your brainwave patterns? I've looked on quite a few sites and haven't found anything like that.

I doubt that since he didnt say that.

What I will say is that by accident when I was about 5 I used to do this to touch the ceiling with my feet (I was on a bunk bed) and I used to get alot of dreams back then, a hell of a lot. But just because I used to do this every night doesent mean its because of this technique however there definetly is a correlation between the amount of dreams I had when I was on my old bed where I did that technique and the bed I had after.
