Another thing to try, if you don't already, is a method such as WILD or MILD, where you wake up in the middle of the night and become lucid as you fall back asleep.
Also, the various methods that people post aren't the only ones. Try experimenting with your own, and see if you can come up with anything that helps to stabilize the dream.
One thing that helped with me, when I had this same problem, was to examine my own breathing. If I controlled it, it helped me stay calm and focus more of my attention on the dream itself, thus keeping it more stable.
Hm, mostly all my LDs occur after 2am. The method I mostly use is WBTB, but sometimes I get a random DILD. I want to try WILD, but it is so hard and I end up getting bored after counting to 500 but with nothing happening. Same with MILD, I just get bored repeating the same thing over and over again in my head and I just can't do it. However, I read that for a successful MILD you only need to repeat it a few times, or even once, if you say it with enough emotion in your head. Is this true?
