I wouldnt worry too much Skritch.. you are going through a lot of stress after all.
And yes, stress can be a serious dream killer

You might also be trying too hard? I've noticed this causes problems for some... if you force it too hard...

Ha, that's so funny! This morning I woke up at like 5, remembered my dreams, but for some reason didn't care whatsoever if I forgot them later on. So, I didn't write them down for a change. And then I had a LD! .. A sort of LD. AND I remembered those dreams that I didn't write down. So yeah, take a break from trying too hard.

My understanding is that everybody goes through recall dry spells every now and then.

going to agree with you. I recently went through a dry spell and couldnt remember anything. It's back now. There's also the possibility that you're trying too hard. take a break

pfft.. 2-3 days is no big deal..

I lost dream recall for over 3 years. Until i fell on this site and really tried to remember them did i gain the ability back. Do not become lazy, it may very well be stress and if your only gettin 4 hours sleep try to get some more.. remember to keep trying and say to yourself you can.. and you will recall

Write em down if you remember them. You'll begin lucid dreaming soon after (if that's what you were referring to).

When I drink some beer in the evening before sleep, I fail to dream or remember my dreams at any rate.
The next day I go back to normal, but mint tea always helps!

*sigh* Terry, are you gonna check your PMs or not?

Have you guys tried sleeping in a diff. location? I slept in a tent last night, and I remember waking up at least 10 times. I should have tried some method, but I kept getting distracted by suspicious noises around me. But.. I'll try again tonight.

I have to side with TheUnknown on this one. I havn't been keeping a dream journal for much longer than 2-3 years though. More like 10 years since I recorded a dream, although I'm ashamed to admit it. But like TheUnknown, I have started up again now that I've found this site to encourage me. What I find with dreams is that people tend not to remember them. Most people who are not in to dreams don't even think they dream every night. So I think it is quite natural not to remember your dreams. I recorded a few hundred dreams back in the early 90s, up to 4 a night on some nights, and up to 30 in a month, but even I'm having trouble making a come back. The night before last I didn't remember a single dream. This morning I did manage to remember my last dream, but it was a conscious choice I made to remember it. I knew the last thing that happened was still fresh in my mind if I wanted to grab it and work backwards to the beginning, which I did. But if I had decided not to, my memory of the dream would have disappeared within half a minute of getting up.

I hardly ever.. i do not have to. Its the nature of my memory, it seems that dreams go into my long-term and i remember them indefinetly (i used to be able to recall hundreds of dreams). Its because even though i have that very vivid memory, i have no short-term, so i feel its a trade-off.

Many times i spontaneosly recall.. i'tll be almost night and i'll all of a sudden remember like 3 dreams i had in the morning.

I should write... but i feel i have no need now, and it takes me a long time to write and type (write because i write slow, and type because i can't focus.)

I was recently staying in a hotel in another country for a few days, and two or three nights while I was there, I couldn't remember any of my dreams. So possibly a sudden change can weaken your dream recall for awhile?

Either weaken or strengthen, it depends on the person. I slept in a tent the past couple of nights and my dream recall weakened.. but some have posted the opposite, for example.. sleeping on a couch, which gave them more LDs.
