      WBTB/Wild troubles

This occurs almost every single time I take a nap around 2 hours. I'll wake up for a split second and remember my dream and when I concentrate on my dream and I'm immediately going back to sleep I get the following symptoms/whatever....

I hear a loud noise in my ears and if I focus on it I can make it get louder and louder and earlier today it'd gotten the closest it'd been to where I actually heard talking and I started to see an image from the dream I had just exited. Unfortunately, the second I try and focus on the image thats coming up in front of me it wakes me back up.

After I wake up I can repeat this process with the noise in the ears and staying conscious while i fall asleep 3 or 4 more times till I finally drift back to sleep.

Anyone know what to do here? I guess just keep playing with it till it eventually works? I just wish I knew an easy answer cause if this were the case I could probably WILD almost everytime I take a nap since this happens 3-4 times a month ontop of my normal lucids.

Noise in my ears used to scare me.. I take it as a symptom of becoming lucid during early sleep paralysis.

I recommend not focusing on the noise, don't let it distract you, treat it as background while using your dream eyes to "see". Often in this state the visuals will start for me as patterns and colors.. hypnagogic sensations these are called. If all goes well, the noise might fade and be replaced by distinct sounds or voices saying things you weren't expecting.. it's really pretty neat. Just ride it out and see where it takes you.

I agree with Dan. Focus on the hypnagogic images, and it will be easier to go through with the WILD. I also hear noises like that when a spontaneous WILD occurs, but I don't really listen to them. And remember to relax, don't move, and just go with it.
