You can use a recorder to make records of your dreams, doesn't require writing anything until you have time or get bored.

I'm lazy as all hell and still manage to jot down my dreams. It doesn't take much effort, a few sentences scribbled down when I wake up and then I go about my business.

Because I didn't feel like going through the points of relaxation or counting techniques or other sort of intensive methods to have a WILD, I used the HIT technique, which seemed easy.
All one has to do is watch their Hypnogogic Imagry (if you see any) until you get pulled into a dream or a dream scene forms around you. The trickiest thing about it is learning to not try to force yourself into a dream scene too soon.
