      Exclamation This Is Frustratioooooon!

Hey everyone, I'm back. (Even though 99.9999999999% of you probably didn't notice.)

SOMEONE doesn't want me to have lucid dreams, although some how I've managed to just be able to say "Hey, this is a dream!" and I'll become lucid without reality checks. (I think I've adapted to things like "5 fingers on each hand" my brain is throwing at me, I mean 'What the hell?!' why must you complicate everything Mr. Brain.) But at the MOMENT I become lucid everything starts going crazy like things are fading to white, control is relatively easy... Well controlling everything but the white. If I manage to fight away the white light of doom it comes right back at me, and I get false awakenings thrown at me. (Is this some kind of test, if so; My answer is D. OMFGWTFFBFQQ!!1111Eleventy-one )

Seriously though; My question is why is this happening? If I managed to fix this without loosing the "Hey, I'm dreaming no need for Reality Checks and strange pieces of realism" I would be pretty happy. (And I'd also be having at least 3 lucids a week. Which would also be nice.)

Any suggestions? I feel like I'm fightin' the final boss.

But IGN has no walkthroughs for this... :\

(Oh, and before I forget: A second question
Is it uncommon to have things like all 10 fingers in dreams?
And what about the "Hey I'm Dreaming!"?

Well, if you say that your dreams are becoming painfully realistic, then you'll just need to be more creative when doing reality checks.

One hint, is to use the plug-nose reality check. Pinch your nose, and if you can still breathe, you are dreaming. This works in pretty much every dream (unless you have a cold or something), because you're accessing your breathing in waking life.

Using stabilization techniques (integrating your senses, rubbing your hands together, etc) will ward off false awakenings.

Thank you, I'll try. But do you know if it's common to often be able to just say "Hey, I'm Dreaming!" and become lucid without reality checks? <- That's happened to me quite a few times.

Yeah, that's the way I normally get lucid. An RC is just a nice tool to confirm it before I go jumping out windows.

You should look into dream signs. If you keep a good dream journal it is even easier to find good dreams signs. Things that seem to repeat in your dreams, fairly often. A lot of time, people have their dream signs, and when they see them they do a reality check. However that isn't really needed if you have a good dream sign.

If you dream of living in your old house, or dream of having braces like you did when your were younger, or dream about an old friend from another state or something, or pink elephants, you don't need a reality check. You know that you no longer live in your old house, have braces, and pink elephants don't exist. No reality check needed.

It is possible to just suddenly realize you are dreaming. Though its a lot easier to come to that sudden realization through dream signs. You just need to check for patterns or signs that repeat in your dreams.

I think that is actually more common than becoming lucid from RC's. It just hits you and you become aware.

the only times I ever become lucid from RC's is when I get a strange feeling and can't tell whether it's a dream or not. It causes me to question my reality, and the RC finally pushes me over the edge to become lucid. I guess I could call it a fail-safe.
