Are you willing to change your habits for a day?

Beliefs are second hand or given to you in a hand-me-down sort of fashion.
A collective sum of a social group ideas, that give you your lifelong patterns. Passed on to you by others.

      Are they your own?
Never! But could be, if your patterns & usual habits are broken down.

before rushing blithely along to the next thread (as may be another one of your patterns)
Try for one day to change your normal habits.

      Keep it simple.
i.e. putting your left sock on first or visa vera.
Put the other shoe on first. Try brushing your teeth with the other hand.
Change the way you usally go somewhere, or park your car somewhere other than you normally do. Continue these little things for a day.
Break your memory with these little things that may have become increasingly habital through repetition. Then take notice of your dreaming state too after doing this, you might be surprised - throw in a RC everytime you break normal habit.

Try for one day to change your normal habits.

Post here after (remember when you experience something on your own it is not a belief but a knowing - your own knowing).

You might find yourself acting like an addict in changing the way you usually do things.

Or Else keep your normal waking & dream life stuck in repetition.
and be living in a prision, a mind barrier of your own making!

Sounds like a fun thing to do even for purposes unrelated to dreaming.

No no. Like meditation, Lucid dreaming or simply using the RC's this way, breaks the links between your usual thoughts.

*Whispers* Shhhh it helps you become an improved dreamer.

      And if anything
fun to try. Puts a spin to your regular day.

Hah, that's actually a good idea! I think I'm going to try it sometime. Maybe tomorrow.

Does it have to be simple things? For example, at school in the breaks, I usually either stay inside at talk, or go outside to play football.. Maybe it could work to just walk somewhere completely different than usual and do RCs on the way?

That/s great Maeni, just walk somewhere completely different and take in the scenery. Start noticing and pay attention to the thoughts that you have, as it is revealed to you.
Changing habits is one of the most worthwhile endeavors you can take. Keep the RC\'s going too

And even like Mes said above
it is fun thing to do even for purposes unrelated to dreaming

It may help for me to make a list of my daily habits first, because they seem to be so ingrained into my mind that I can't even think about what they would be.

      My morning routine is:

      Wake up.
      Shower.
      Get dressed.
Put in contacts. Fix hair. Brush teeth.
Kiss girlfriend goodbye for the day.
      Drive to work.

And I would say it is a pretty solid routine. I drive the same way to work everyday so perhaps I could take a different route. That would mean getting up earlier though...
