When it comes to lucid dreaming techniques, espesially reality checks, consistency is crucial for them to work. If you randomly try lots of different techniques, you will have random results.

Concerning reality checks, you need to do them every day. And more often than three times a day. I suggest looking through your dream journal for dreamsigns, then do a reality check whenever they appear, no matter if you're awake or dreaming.

You might also want to look into the MILD technique, there is a guide in the tutorial section.

If you're still having problems getting lucid, you might want to consider getting adopted for individual follow up, which can be better than getting lots of different advice from different people who don't know the details of your attemps and progress.

      Good luck either way!

If you don't like waking up in the middle of the night, you can try DEILD. Have you tried IH8Reality's technique?

There are lots of similar techniques where you use your natural mid-night and early morning awakenings to reenter dreams while staying conscious. It could score you a couple brief lucid dreams to get you started.
