      Biggest WILD problem

How are you supposed to not think While Wilding. I heard it is important to clear your thoughts.
      For me it's virtually impossible
Every time i am in bed my mind is constantly thinking about LD
I mean if everything is completely silent how are you supposed to...NOT think??
I tried using music but that kept me awake. With FILD i just fell asleep. With VILD the second i realize I'm creating an image it vanishes. With counting i also fall asleep.
All my WILDs have been mostly luck. I just hope against hope i will fall into a dream without thinking to much, but i want it the professionally way

      Thx in Adv

The biggest key to WILDing is to act as if your going to sleep naturally, let your mind wonder on thoughts, but not overtly, keep some control of what your thinking about or your mind will take over and your dead asleep before you know it.
Go to sleep as normal again using the WILD technique, just lay there remaining conciousness until you begin to enter SP

You could just tell yourself to shut up everytime you think (seriously, this works with me)

Or you could Wild when you are very tired, which probably means that you should set an earlier wake up time to do it.

WILD most easily performed through trance (i.e. the form of meditation in which you allow your body to fall asleep while maintaining consciousness). It's possible also to succeed at WILD by waking up in the middle of the night while your body is most relaxed, but I recommend if you're truly interested in being able to do it whenever you want, you practice meditation. It's normal not to be able to concentrate, and it takes a lot of practice. Practice breath-awareness meditation everyday for five-ten minutes until you can concentrate for three or so minutes straight without distraction. There are lots of 'techniques' for breath awareness meditation online, but if you can't find any PM me and I'll help you out.

i have the same problem but finally after like 45 minutes by body fell asleep you don't want to neccesarrily clear your mind so your mind falls asleep that is what you want to keep awake i hope i helped!

the point of a WILD is actually to fall asleep. you HAVE to fall asleep but stay aware at the same time, yeah it's really confusing.
i think a better way to put it is to fall asleep and know that you are doing it, but DO NOT try to focus on your body too much unless that's helpful for you to fall asleep. just do what you normally do to go to bed, get comfy and let your dream come to you, don't chase it. there's no great difference between going to bed normally and WILDing, only that in a WILD you know when you finally fall asleep, and in order to dream you must be asleep.
this is information that i came across numerous times (in a single day) from people that claim they are very successful at the WILD technique, i tried about 3-4 times, then i came across this revelation and mixed with a WBTB i managed to have my first WILD today!

if you think staying awake works for you or has worked for you, than by all means do that, but i like i said i tried to stay awake thinking it was the correct way and all it did was put me in SP with no imagery at all intill i just gave up and fell totally asleep defeated.
