      Post-SP

So I've recently been able to get to SP, and can generally do it between 10 and 30 minutes. However after I do get into this state, I have no idea what to do. Once I tried drifting around for a while hoping something would happen but after probably over a half hour of waiting nothing happened.

I also hear of these techniques that involve rolling with your 'dream body', the one where you envision yourself in another room, etc but none of these seem to work. I can't really visualize anything and whenever I try to roll it ends up seeming in my imagination until i get frustrated and roll with my real body, ending SP. Can anyone help me out? I'm out of ideas.

This advice is all based on 3 personal experiences, so is not "expert" or anything, but you can give it a try.

When I get stuck in SP and can't seem to get out of it, but want to LD I do this:
      1. repeat to myself "know I am dreaming" for a few minutes, then
      2. stop focusing on the SP and anything else and just fall asleep.

Two out of three times I ended up having a LD (DILD) even though I'd "failed." Maybe you'll have similar luck?

Sounds good, thats definitely far more constructive than giving up all together. I'll try it tonight if I don't get results again. Thanks for the input.

Anyone else? I'm sure there's gotta be some other unique methods out there...

There are a couple ways to go from the SP state. If you can't get your dream body free you can concentrate on conjuring up some visuals and building a LD.

Care to elaborate? Conjuring visuals hasn't been working out too well for me. Seems like I can get something for an instant, but then it just fades away into nothing again. Is it possible to be trying to hard to do this? Maybe I'm just investing way too much concentration in it.

What is happening? You get the SP... No feeling of separation? No vibrations? No visual or auditory hallucinations? You get board after a while and bring yourself out of it?

I feel vibrations when I'm transitioning into SP, where I kinda just drift around for a while. Occasionally I'll get a quick visual/audio hallucination. Like the other day I saw this detailed scene of a supermarket. But it was gone as soon as it came. I tried to bring it back but I couldn't do it.

I don't get this feeling of separation though. It seems abstract to me even in SP. I try to grasp it but it never really works. I'm thinking maybe my mind just isn't tired enough, seems like I'm overthinking everything even when I'm trying to WILD. I'll give it a try after a WBTB tonight.

You might try imagining that your dream body is floating a few feet above your real body. If you can picture it clearly you might find your consciousness 'flickering' in between the two and settling in your dream body.

Great idea Enterer. Will try that myself.

Sounds good. I got that sensation just a bit last night when I tried the rolling technique again. Still I'm just so rooted in my physical self its difficult to imagine scenarios, myself in a dream body, etc. I've heard about training it though maybe I can work on that a bit during the day. Either way I'll try that technique tonight or later today.
