Before bed MAKE SURE to TELL yourself that your going to have a lucid dream.
Also every morning when I wake up I can WILD as long as I remember. Many people say that they can only WILD after waiting some time, but when I am in that state of utter tiredness I just go to sleep with thoughts of lucidity in my mind and before I know it... SP

      motivation is very important.
And the hard thing (for me atleast) is to stay motivated even when it doesn't work out as you want it to.
But all of a sudden you got lots of LDs when you don't expect them to come.
Using WBTB is pretty helpful to.

Well I havn't exactly reached my full potential, but I live by the qoute "Try again, fail again, fail better", in other words, be as open to failure as you can be. I know that the vast majority in my place (I've been trying to figure out the key to wild for 2 years (around there, less strict in the beginning)) would easily have given up far before I did.

And disopline incourages an easier acceptence of it, the more you push on, the easier it becomes.

And ofcourse the motivation of it, allow yourself to think deeply about the rewards and put alot of time in planning events in which would accure if you were successful, but don't let them make you so afraid of failure you can't go on, in that case live by the quote I gave.

Those brief awakening in the morning time where you wake up for 10 seconds or so are real good oportunities to have LD by keeping your mind busy by imaging a dream scenerio while you fall back asleep

      1. WBTB
      2. Do stretches to be physically relaxed with no tension
      3. Mind singularity while falling asleep
      4. Control breathing
      5. Visualization exercises
      6. RCs during the day
      7. Dream Journal

Do all this, DO IT WELL, I don't see how a person can fail.

I have had crazy vivid dreams/wilds/lucids while passed out/hungover.

seems like the most often time I become lucid.

Smoking pot before WILDing isnt a good idea, I find it helps relaxation but I often forget what I'm doing and fall asleep.

Some of the best dreams I ever had were after a night of utter drunkenness. It could be chemical, but I think being drunk just has a dramatically different effect on your subconscious than your conscious, forcing you to think out of the norm and thus making dreams more memorable.

Theres no dream like the dream of reality.

My best of the best advice would be to constantly think about lucid dreaming and dreams in general, and even more before going to bed.
(As a result, reality checks help since it's something you do to check if you're dreaming or not, thus making you think (even if just for a short amount of time) of lucid dreaming.)

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

What makes lucid dreaming possible is the mastery of combinations of these techniques.

eg. Just keeping a dream journal would not guarantee a lucid dream, you also need to do reality checks. For some people, doing only these two things would not work, so they might want to take supplements. But somehow a newbie is too dull to achieve a lucid dream while using all three methods, he or she might want to try binaural music in addition to above techniques. If a loser still fails to LD doing all four, then one could learn to meditate. If that slow learner unable to lucid dream after all the obstacles, then the person should try different major techniques like WILD, DILD etc....You just keep trying and trying.......
