I've accomplished a WILD before, but now I'm too afraid to even attempt it again. I've accomplished it waking after 5 hours of sleep, and entered SP directly from going to bed at night (around 12 PM when I normally sleep) |

Well this fear is not uncommon, I once had it as well (before I realized I just couldn't WILD easily |

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause
What if its just scary images / sounds from hypnogogia? Just hearing / looking at them makes me feel creeped, and I know I can't make it go away mainly because its during hypnogogia, and you can't control hypnogogia. Do I just ignore it, tell myself its just my mind, or try to acknoledge it in a humorous fashion? |
|
I know what you're going through and you can't escape it, so stop trying to. It doesn't matter if you get all the reasons to get scared out of your head, as soon as paralysis sets in the fear will come instantly, even before the hallucinations start. |
|
- Are you an idiot?
- No sir, I'm a dreamer.

The only thing you can do to overcome the fear of sleep paralysis is to face it head on. I could sit here all day and try to explain how safe it is but you would still be faced with the same feeling of anxiety when the time arrived. |

My only SP did not happen after a WILD, and not even after a NON-LD. |

Quit, or get over it. |

If you aren't going to help, please do not post. Certainly you have never experienced anything close to SP before. |
|
Alright, you are actually helping with what you say; but try NOT to diss the thread-starter when helping; cuz then you won't be. XD You might even tempt him to totally OWN you with his abusive comebacks . |

My grammar was spot on, so maybe you should check what you think English is and correct it accordingly. As for exploding head syndrome, I must be very lucky because there happens to be a wikipage on it: |
|
What does exploding head syndrome have to do with any of this? I've heard about it before. Please just keep to yourself and stay away from this forum if all you want to do is make sneering insults and prove your point. |

Hey, lets not start a flame war over this. If you two cannot get along, take it to PM, don't clog the boards up with flames. |

Does anyone else find it incredibly odd that out of ALL of the possible creatures on this earth, that most furries are either lupine, vulpine, or feline?
I sympathize and agree with you wholeheartedly; hypnogogia is as real as real can get (when experiencing it). . .I've come to expect it, of course. . .but to wake up staring at a little kid standing next to my bed, is hardly something to laugh at . . .in fact, I can't think of anything scarier. . .and I'm quite sure this fear stops me from expanding on my dreaming practices as well. . .pathic or not. its a completely different form of conciousness; hardly like encountering a zombie in a resident evil game or something. . . |

I've had SP before I even knew anything about lucid dreaming or what SP was. It was kind of scary, but mostly for the sensations of not being able to move. I have seen some mildly weird things before (for instance my bedroom door opening by itself as a hypnagogic hallucination) and in those cases, I was easily able to realize that I could just wake myself up if I wanted to. |
|
It isn't that scary... haven't experienced (and I don't want to lol) hallucinations. My 1st one was quite cool |
|
I don't see why you're scared of SP in the first place. Getting this worked up will only give you a bigger chance at having said hallucinations. I had SP this morning and it wasn't scary at all. SP is usually pretty fun. |
|
Other people have had bad experiences because they make it bad. Make your experiences good. |

This guy,, and this guy,
, are mine. BACK OFF!
That's pretty uncalled for. Odd states of mind can create all sorts of issues that wouldn't exist in reality. Hence nightmares. Everyone's psychology is different. One person's hypnogogia state might be completely different than another's. |
|
Oh come on its not that bad, well not for me at least |
