I think i started to become lucid.....

Ok i read somewhere on here that if you lay still long enough your body will fall asleep but ur mind will stay awake and go into a lucid dream or something... dont know what its called cause i cant find the post again. But i tried this and it works..... I was taking a nap in the afternoon and decided i would try this. So i layed still for about 10 mins or so..... when all of a sudden everything started to feel weird..... I sort of lost my whole body. I couldnt feel it anymore and it felt like i was sitting in a chair. I thought to my self yes this is it, im going lucid.... i started to let go and let it takes it course but i got scared and woke up.
I decided after that that i was not going to be afraid and just let it all go. So i did it again and this time when it happened i felt like i was being rocked back and forth.... it was really annoying but i couldnt keep going cause my fiance called and woke me up for work......
Did i experience lucidity or not? Help me out w/ this yall..... need all the help i can get on this amazing stuff...

By the way i would really like some one to adopt me.... if i cant post this here then just delete this part....

The name for the technique you are describing is WILD, or Wake Initated Lucid Dream.

You didn't get to the dreaming part. You got to SP (sleep paralysis). SP happens when you dream. Basically it keeps your physical body from getting up and acting out your dreams (which, obviously, would be really BAD).

If you'd kept going you may have seen/felt/smelt/heard some cool HI (hypnagogic imagry). After this the dream would have started. You know the dream starts when suddenly you find yourself in a scene. Sometimes with WILD (and some other techniques) you can have a false awakening (FA), which is were you think you've fallen asleep and just woken up, but really a dream has just started. So, if you are WILDing, always do RCs when you wake up to make sure you're not just dreaming.

You were getting close! Good luck!

I try to WiLd but the farthest i've gotten is feeling like i was floating off my bed, then my head started bobbing up and down.

Then it just goes away like that, i dont know why i dont go past it but it always stops when i get something like that.

I've gotten Kaleidoscope looking images with my eyes closed before, really vivid, but again it just fades away and im back to just lying there again.
