Great idea, Clairity! I can see how that could help, too. It would keep any saliva up and away from the back of your throat. Excellent advice, I'll try it myself!

I havent had a wild ever, so I dont have many tips for you, but I've got one. I don't think I read it here though, think it was on a site explaining how to meditate. They said, to avoid the swalloving, you should put your tongue up against the "roof" of your mouth sort of speak. I haven't tryed this myself, but I could work

That can help the saliva from accumulating in your mouth. If your problem is saliva, keep your mouth open a bit, should happen if your face is relaxed anyway, and your mouth should dry up quickly.

For me however, I always have a mound in the middle of my throat that wont go away. I just learn to ignore it.

I have been trying WBTB plus WILD for about a week now without success. I think part of my problem might be fear, as a few years ago I had the experience of waking while my body was still in SP. As I've read, if you don't know what's going on it can be pretty scary, which it was for me. I had the classic sense of dread, and sensed the presence of evil, standing right in front of me. I thought I was experiencing my dealth. Needless to say, it totally freaked me out when I finally brought myself out of it. I've been hoping my new conscious knowledge of hypnogogic hallucinations will ease me into lucidity, but wonder if I'm unconsciously blocking because of my previous freak out. Also, I have sleep apnia, and must use a BiPap machine with a mask like thingie to keep my breathing regular. I've been using it now for years and have adjusted to the thing being on my face, but wonder if that too might be part of the problem. Any other apnia folks out there have any suggestions or thoughts?
