Then my left hand felt like it was under anesthetic and it felt cold, i tried to move my middle finger but couldnt, but then i got distracted so got up. Was that sp in my hand? and if i had tried for longer would it have spread over my body? my hand felt as if the fingers were up in the air even though i knew they werent lol.

Sorry to be a little sceptical. But the same responses as you got from other members, sound exactly the same as the answers I got, when I started with WILDing some time ago. Dont you think it is a little bit weird that this sinking sensation came,5 counts before 300? I know that rush, but trust me, that is not the transition. Thats just built up expectation.
What you experienced was deep relaxation and forgeting about the body. It would be best if you NOW forgot about sleep paralysis at all. It will only slow you down. Just observe what happens and try to be as much passive as possible. If you get to the stages, when you no longer care about the body shutting down, you may start to get serious about WILD.
