Thread: Mind Alarms?

Thats most likely auditory hypnogogia, it usually happens as the brain slowly stops consciously processing information from the external senses.

Alternatively it could also be sleep paralysis related phenomena which occurs if you happen to be conscious as the body begins paralysing itself for sleep.

Sometimes when trying to sleep, I'll hear a familiar voice yell my name, then just random talking that I can't make out. Auditory hypnogogia is weird sometimes.

I'd consider mind alarms being when you wake up without an alarm clock just by yourself at the time you wanted to wake up at. I've had mild success at doing this, but I wouldn't rely on it alone yet. I've heard some people do, but they probably have more practice than me.
