      Staying Lucid

I started keeping a dream journal again and about to nights ago I had my first LD in about a year. Since then I have been noticing when I'm dreaming a lot but whenever I do I immediatly wake up sometimes before I even do a RC. Does anyone have any tips for not waking yourself up when you realize you are dreaming?

You could try autosugestion. It never hurts.
Also try to re-enter your dream.

      Talking Welcome to dreamviews!

hi! I had that problem - there are a few ways to keep lucid.
      1. every day, just look at your hands/watch and do RCs then, but don't think REALITYCHECK. when you are dreaming and think Reality Check your brain will take it as a cue to wake up I guess.
      2. once you are lucid, don't try and stay lucid for as long as you can. instead, just say something to do with what you wish to do then let lucidity wear off. the dream will probably now follow that course.
      good luck with lucid dreaming

Thanks for the advice. I had 2 LDs last night, though the first time I woke up pretty quick. But the second one was really good. I just told myself to relax and not get too excited. I also found that walking around for a minute before doing anything difficult seems to help.

Stimlate your dream senses. The underlying theory here is that the more attention you give to the dream, the more vivid and stable it becomes. (The inverse is also true, by the way: the quickest way to wake yourself up is to ignore the dream and think about waking life.) There are number of ways to stimulate your dream senses, popular ones include:
      • Dream spinning (literally spin around in a circle in your dream)
      • Rub your hands together
      • Shout
      • Smell the air
      • Taste something
      • Run your hands over surfaces - feel the textures around you
