1st LD!!!!! I think. A little help please?

Ok, so got a little problem here. I think i had my long awaited first lucid dream this morning, but, it really didn't seem like I was that aware when I became aware. what I mean is when I did the reality check in the dream and realized I had six fingers and then started spoutin off to everyone that "I am having my first LD!!!!!" it just seemed like part of the dream plot, not like i was actually lucid. Very confusing. Very frustrating. Any words of wisdom?

I don't know what the technical word would be for the type of dream you just had, but there are different levels of awareness in dreams. I have had dreams where I 'knew' I was dreaming and that it was just a dream, but my brain didn't 'wake up' in the dream so that I had full control of the dream. The dream still unfolded like a normal dream where random things happened. You will know when you become fully lucid and aware of yourself. For me I seem to stretch as I gain awareness. My surroundings are more clear and vibrant when I focus on them than in real life, and I can usually sense my waking body if my sleeping position isn't very comfortable. I haven't yet been able to move from the type of dream you just had, to a fully lucid dream. Sorry, but hopefully someone else has who can give us both some good advice.

i know exactly what you mean TK. last night i had my first ld because of a deja vu feeling, i think because i went back in time. well i realized i was dreaming and tried to change what was going to happen, but it felt like the lucidity was like part of the story. i woke up right after and i was questioning whether or not i was really lucid =/ hard to explain
