      How Lucid is Lucidity really?

I mean, how much of your usual real life mind, is actually working?
Because it seems to me, no matter how lucid you are, you are still kind of dreaming.
Maybe thats just me, because I am not that advanced yet, but I will give an example.

A few weeks ago, I had a really lucid dream. I absolutely knew I was dreaming, and was like "Yay, I can do whatever I want now".
So I proceeded to go into the kitchen and throw all the glass cups and plates onto the floor, shattering them...because it would have no sideeffects, and everything would be back to normal.
      I then went and kicked a cat...because I wasn't "really" doing it.

To me, I find that lucid, but not all THAT lucid.
Because if I were really awake, I would never choose to do such a stupid thing as that...I would much rather do other things.
And I LOVE cats! I would NEVER even think of kicking a cat!
So to me it is obvious, that I obviously wasn't using all of my brain, despite being lucid. I was being dumb.

I realize with practice you could probably get better, but I am just wondering why that is exactly, especially scientifically.

      Does anybody know?

Yes, I know what you're talking about. Like, when I'm lucid, I know I'm dreaming, but I still do stupid, impulsive things, like destroying stuff or sex. I need to expand myself, and truly realize that when I'm lucid, it's a great chance to learn more about myself through my subconscious, and not to just have cheap thrills.

The consensus and research suggests that the logic centers of your brain are shut off during a dream, hence you jumping to destroying glass things instead of doing something more worthy of your time. That is also responsible for the effectiveness of the text/clock RC. The logical part of your brain doesn't function well enough to really keep track of time or written words.

Yes such things do happen. It's different if it's a DILD then if it's a WILD. With a WILD I still feel as being my old self and I can act accordingly (so I don't do useless stuff as braking dishes) if I get strange compulsions. Although It also happens during DILDs so I don't know exactly how it works.

      On a similar note,

Sometimes when I become lucid, it only feels like I'm only dreaming about a dream in which I'm lucid. Is this a barrier that I need to break to achieve more control over my dreams, or is this just a funny feeling that I need not pay any mind to and continue to practice my controlling?

I did something that felt right when i got Lucid, but what i did was actually pretty "wrong". I would be jailed for it in real life.

Its quite worrying that part of my brain choose to do this act, and that it is inside of me.

Anyone relate to what i'm saying? Should i worry, or is it just nothing.

I've done lots of wrong things. I don't worry. Neither am I some psycho killer. Dreams are dreams.

If you're worried about what you did, then you have nothing to worry about. The worry itself should be proof enough that you don't want to do it. That's the way I see it.

It's like one of those "I had a dream where I had sex with my friend, does that mean I'm gay? Help!". You're gay or you're not gay. I don't look at my dreams to see who I am. Maybe to see my unconscious thoughts, emotions, urges etc. but still, that's not who I am in "Real life".

I like to think of it as your "level" of lucidity. Sometimes I have lucids and it seems like a good portion of my rational mind is just out of reach. I'll do things that I didn't really intend to do, and I fight myself not to, but it happens anyway. Sort of like rebelling against your brain. I kind of think of it as most of my brain is not easily accessed since I'm in sleep, I don't know. It also seems that whatever your train of thought is will play out in the dream, so though I am not consciously intending to do things, I am thinking of them occurring and causing them to occur when I don't actually want them to.

Then I sometimes am completely rational, logical, and lucid, but I have trouble accessing my memory. Usually this comes in the form of techniques that you can use (like going through mirrors or using a tv to teleport), or trying to recall my list of dream goals and not being able to remember for the life of me what it is.

In "higher" level lucids, I am usually just as rational and awake as I am right now, and don't usually have these problems.
