I mean, how much of your usual real life mind, is actually working?
Because it seems to me, no matter how lucid you are, you are still kind of dreaming.
Maybe thats just me, because I am not that advanced yet, but I will give an example.

A few weeks ago, I had a really lucid dream. I absolutely knew I was dreaming, and was like "Yay, I can do whatever I want now".
So I proceeded to go into the kitchen and throw all the glass cups and plates onto the floor, shattering them...because it would have no sideeffects, and everything would be back to normal.
I then went and kicked a cat...because I wasn't "really" doing it.

To me, I find that lucid, but not all THAT lucid.
Because if I were really awake, I would never choose to do such a stupid thing as that...I would much rather do other things.
And I LOVE cats! I would NEVER even think of kicking a cat!
So to me it is obvious, that I obviously wasn't using all of my brain, despite being lucid. I was being dumb.

I realize with practice you could probably get better, but I am just wondering why that is exactly, especially scientifically.

Does anybody know?
