      marijuana and lucidity

ok, so I know people are gonna get mad at me for posting another topic about weed, but I couldn't find an answer to my question in any other posts

Anyways, I've been smoking at least 3 times a day for the past year or so, and just got into lucid dreaming a couple months ago. Personally, it doesn't affect my dream recall too much, and i can usually remember at least 2 or 3 dreams per night. However, I am never that aware in my dreams, and sometimes see obvious dreamsigns, but fail to realize im dreaming. I also have been doing reality checks a couple times day and whenever I see something out of the ordinary, but have never done one in a dream. I've only had 2 DILDs, and in both of them I realized was dreaming for no apparent reason.

So my question is, does marijuana make you less aware in your dreams, and if so, are there any exercises to improve dream awareness besides quiting smoking?

It would probably depend upon the person.

If you can lucid dream while under the influence.(falling asleep high) Then I don't know why you would have any other problems. I'm pretty sure that the only thing marijuana would effect for dreaming is recall. That's my only guess and I didn't think it would go much further than that.

I guess it's possible, but I doubt any one here can answer that.

I don't think it affects recall in the least. I smoke way more than three times a day, and I have to leave dreams out of my DJ because I just don't have the time to write them all down.

yeah it's all your mindset towards it. If you believe it will ruin your recall, it will; and if you believe it won't ruin your recall, it won't

I agree, I smoke a lot and I can recall about three dreams a night. I recommend vitamin B6 if you really have trouble with dream recall though. It will make your dreams more vivid and easier to remember.

I once posted a topic about this: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ed+REM-rebound

I have the hash-and-vivid-dreams experience too. Super hiah is my hash of choice.

I have officially confirmed marijuana does nothing but repress my REM sleep about an hour or two. I have gotten REM 3 hours in at earliest. So as long as I still get 8-9 hours of sleep, all it does is make me sleep better. More dreams in the morning ftw.

I smoke every once in a while and everytime it has a different effect on the way i dream. Sometimes ill have an extremely vivid dream the night of doing it and other times i will not dream at all. It seems like for me its either realy vivid or not at all. I think its all based on how it personally affects your short term memory.
