dod you have to be on your back in a WILD?

do you have to be on your back when attempting a WILD? i am going through a 'black week.' i have tried the WILD technique and i can feel it working but i can never let my body fall asleep because im never comfortable! and if im on my side i fall asleep too much - i lose consiousness and fall into dreams of my unconsious thoughts and never become lucid in them!!! help!!!!

for me yes, but keep in mind i only managed to do it once. Sleeping on my back is pretty much uncomfortable for me and it keeps me awake, so i'd imagine it would be the same for you, but WILD can be done in any sleeping position. its just that others find it easier on the back

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard

No Andromeda, you can do wild in any possition you feel comfortable with.
I even had a few on a seat in a driving car. sitting straight up!

So try a possition you feel comfortable with!
There is no rule to wild only the guidance from your own experience, what ever works 4 you.

      Good luck!

I will second what Lucid Apple said and state that I have never been able to WILD from my back. Either side or my front, yes.

My problem is, when I become relaxed enough on my back, I begin to snore and it wake me up

However, when I was first learning, I wasted many hours trying to WILD from my back.

yeah - totally! my own snoring wakes me up too! i just dont feel right on my back.... the only problem is...... i tried it on my side again, and i realise that my problem is: i dont feel 'even' enough - i dont feel like i can be paralysed with my legs and arms all skewy, i am too consious of the bed beneath me and i feel like i cant concentrate on letting my body go, and getting the floating feeling.

How it normally works is, the more comfortable the position the faster you fall asleep. The more uncomforable the better chance you have at staying conscious.

So you need to find a balance and that depends on the person.

For me it can only happen when I am lying flat on my back, legs straight, and arms either at my sides or resting on my lower stomach. For some reason I can't do it when there is anything on my chest like arms or a blanket because it begins to feel really heavy for some reason and I feel like it impedes my breathing. If one leg is slightly bent it kinda hurts when going into paralysis. Basically what I'm saying is that you have to find what works for you. Then once you get used to it and get better at it I'm sure you can do it wherever and whenever (like in a car)...I just haven't gotten to that point yet.

Adromeda also try several time settings, that also can make a difference.
Like morning is for most the best time to do wild.

      Good luck :-)
