      WILD Not working...

I have been into lucid dreaming for about 3 weeks or so and have had a total of 2 lucid dreams. One was very dark and unclear and short. My second was better, but it was a nightmare and scared me awake. I've been working on WILDs for about 3 weeks too and am most interested by this one...

I lay down and relax, thinking to myself, "I will move from waking to lucidity" and begin to see hypnagogic imagery, but it never becomes clear or vivid, after a while they begin to disappear and all I see is black. Can anyone help?

Could be a false awakening. Lots of times if you just open your eyes after the HH disappears, you will find yourself in a dream.

Also, are you watching the HH? Moving your eyes may prevent you from entering a dream.

I thought that too, but I never do, the first thing I do when I wake up at any time is perform a reality check, I'm always awake.

The only time I've successfully had an HH was as I was goign to bed. I always seam to get too distracted by random thoughts when I wake up and go back to bed.

Hmmmm. That's interesting. For me, HI usually never disappeared for me it just kept going. Then I watched this bloody movie (which was good haha) but the girl in it said that the colours you see eventually just disappear and then there is just a fuzzy black and it stays like that.
Since then this is what has been happening to me. F'in annoying.
You could try looking at some colours for a while but stay still, keep coloured papers on your lap or something.
By then you will already be relaxed when the HI comes back.
I'll try this too, I just haven't yet because I was trying to get HI with my eyes open and closed to try to control the hallucinations. Also I was trying out the Ganzfeld effect I think it is, but that's off topic lol, but you could also try that to get the HI back.
