      WILD problem.

Ok, so every time I try to WILD, pretty much the same thing happens, I'll be laying there, perfectly still, I never see HI, so I don't even try to use my eyes for WILDing. But I'll lay there and for some reason my hands will start to tingle, problem is that my legs will never feel any different, just my forearms will tingle. Problem is that even if my hand is laying on the bed, it will feel as if my fingers are touching the bed, and the rest of my arm is levitating, and for some reason, this agrravates me to no end, I usually move from this, sometimes my fingers will slowly move by themselves, this is extremely annoying. I never actually get a heavy feeling, I just lay there and basically sit still for an hour till it gets so annoying I end up just moving around and going to sleep like normal. I use BillyBob's technique to count your breaths such as: 1, I'm dreaming; 2, I'm dreaming; ect.

Any ideas or tips you can give me, I'm still fairly new to LDing and I've never actually had a successful WILD, or even gotten to SP.

I got exactly the same problem. Last night I tried to WILD. After a while my fingers/hands went numb, I couldn't really feel them anymore. My toes started to tingle a bit. I think I lay there for about an hour. After a while I felt a shiver running through my spine but I think that was just because I was cold. My foot moved a little bit by itself which pissed me off. I didn't see any HI or felt any weird sensation. I used the alphabet and counting methods aswell.

      Help would be appreciated.
They say that dreams are only real as long as they last. Couldn't you say the same thing about life?

It's the fact that once my hand starts to bother me, I can't take my mind off of it, no matter how hard I try. I really wish I could get my feet to tingle, cause my hands are too easy to move, my feet sit perfectly still.

You may want to try the HOILD. I don't really want to get into explaining what it is here, but you can do a search for it.

Anyway, I tried this for this first time last night at the end of a 15 minute WBTB and I had 2 WILDs. I will be trying again tonight and am pretty excited about it because that was my first WILD.

I think it may work for you because you seem to be having problems just relaxing and falling asleep when trying to WILD. You are prolly trying too hard, and with this technique I just simply tried to fall asleep and I had a very vivid non-lucid dream. Then I woke from the dream maybe half an hour later and went into a lucid dream in less than 30 seconds. The same thing happened when I woke from that LD. I quickly went back into another LD.

I guess the two WILDs I had were WILDs in the form of a DEILD, but I think the HOILD definitely had something to do with it.

yeah it might be body position. I know what your saying though, the temptation to move isn't quite as bad as you seem to say it is though. remember, it's all in your head.

Yeah I'm not a believer that body position matters too much. I've always slept on my stomach my whole life, and it's the only way I can fall asleep. I've stayed awake for hours trying to fall asleep on my back to have a WILD. It just doesnt work for me.

Last night when trying to WILD I gave up and rolled on my stomach. I ended up having back to back WILDs last night, and I'm going to try again for this morning in a few minutes.
