tv puts your mind into a passive state, but isn't too bad if you skip the commercials... i suppose.. i don't really watch a whole lot. |

I'm not quite sure where I heard it, but I read/heard somewhere that electronics, specifically watching TV or playing a computer can negatively impact your ability to have a LD. I'm not sure why, something about your brain being set to a different frequency after watching TV. |

I wouldn't think so... I haven't really researched this, but last night I had my first LD in over a year, and I became lucid when I realized that I was in the environment of Oblivion, the videogame I've played a lot recently. |

Simply put, Anything that makes you go Auto-Pilot is detrimental to improving the consciousness needed to achieve lucidity. |

My personal opinion is that it has more to do with passive awareness brought on by watching a screen for too long as part of lifestyle. Think about it...your perceptions confined to a square screen with moving images that..'replaces' reality. And reality becomes 'blanked' out from the mind because of the screen....Passive Awareness. |

I heard this somewhere, too. I heard that it changes your brain waves and puts your brain on an alpha wave frequency which causes alertness and does not help you fall asleep. |
|
It could be brain waves. I think Beta is the normal one during the day (although i may be confusing them) and alpha and delta are pretty good for things like LDs |
