      i have a plan

i am not sure if it has been thought of yet but i think i have an idea to get going in a dream.

my question: does listening directly to beach noises (waves, seagulls, ect) until falling asleep and visualizing it make you have a dream about being at the beach? If so, can a lucid dream be induced as a result from a dream sign?

      materials:
      -iPod (fully charged) w/earphones
      -beach noises on iPod
      -dream journal
      -accurate dream recall
      -sleepiness is a must

      method:
      1. lie on bed and relax
      2. make sure the noises on the iPod are on "repeat"
      3. adjust volume as necessary but remember to record what level it was on
      4. set iPod on "lock"
      5. make sure you are relaxed and visualize being at the beach as the sounds take place. Your mind should be at ease without forcing any images too much.
      6. If successful, a dream about being at te beach should be induced.

      extra:
      7. if needed, visualize who ever seems to be popping up in your head telling you that you're dreaming, constantly.

      what you guys think?

It could work but I doubt it, although the fact that you are putting so much thought into this means at some point in the near future you will probably have a dream somehow related to beaches.

The whole point of a dream sign is that it is a signal that you are dreaming and supposed to make you conduct a state test, ideally resulting in you realizing that you are dreaming. So yes, the whole point of a dream sign is to become lucid.

I think there are probably better ways to become lucid and also better ways to incubate a dream about the beach. When I take this approach with things I tend to not dream about them just because they become such a fundamental part of my day.

I'm also not 100% sure what your goal is. To have a dream about the beach or to induce lucidity?? Or... both?

I've tried this before, my track actually had my voice recording during the beach sounds, "You are dreaming, This is just a dream, you will realize you are dreaming." I set the track an alarm for about 5 hours after I went to sleep.

I was trying to find a median somewhere between: -Quiet enough not to wake me up. and -Loud enough to hear in my dream.

Unfortunately it didn't ever work for me. Hopefully it'll work for you though.

well i'm hoping it would remind you of what your intentions are when you dream about being at the beach. also just cause it's relaxing.
