The Steps to a VILD; An Amateur Art

      Hello DV forums.

I am relatively new to this forum, as well as the concept of LD'ing.

I hope my title didn't decieve too much; as I don't know the steps, I'm actually looking for them.

Alright, so I understand the concept and what not; the visualization and the technique etc. However, I'm still a little bit confused on the steps to actually engage in a VILD. Are the preperatory steps the same as for a WILD? Do you just lay in your position and keep your mind aware, or is there some other form of differing preperation?

Also, I'm a little unsure of what to do once I have created my dreamscape. I'll have it all mapped out in my head, but I won't know what to do. Will I still experience SP? Or will I just go straight from visualization to an LD? If so, what is the actual process of transition.

      Thanks from a nubcake.

      That was cruel
Based on the title, I expected to see a full walkthrough here, or an intelligent how-to guide or something.

      Sorry I can't help you.

The basic steps to VILD can be found in the tutorials section. It's using a fixed daydreaming scene as a form of autosuggestion when you try to sleep. I personally find it hard to do. Most of us daydream before we fall asleep and it is random so if I try and force a fixed theme most likely I will use too much effort and not fall asleep. So what I did was this....let it be random but bare in mind lucid dreaming which is to be aware that I are dreaming. So while I am 'seeing' this daydreams while falling asleep I try as subtle as possible to 'insert' the idea.."I'm dreaming" or I will find an excuse to check my watch, basically just try and match the randomness with lucid dreaming content. I do it after I had slept for at least one REM cycle because if you do it too early you may get carried away and exert too much force and can't fall asleep.
