Distinguishing thoughts with dreams - help

Whenever I WILD/DEILD/FILD I have a hard time to distinguish my thoughts from the actual (oncoming) dream. So how can I notice when I'm dreaming ? It's hard to explain, it's when you see it happening but aren't or are (?) dreaming yet, but you're still so close and connected with your waking body.

I have the exact same problem.

I just got into a lucid dream (Somehow), did a Reality check, and woke up because i was too excited :[

What was different was my thought process. I wasn't really thinking of anything when I decided to do my RC, it just happened. I'm not entirely sure though.

Well that's not really what I mean, I'm fine once I realise that I'm dreaming, it's just the transition between my imagination and an actual dream.

I know what you meant, was just excited that I almost got it >_> sort of went off on a tangent.
